Students from Global London College recently took part in a fascinating historical tour, immersing themselves in England’s rich past with visits to Canterbury Cathedral and Dover Castle. The trip offered a unique opportunity to explore two of the country’s most significant heritage sites, combining history, architecture, and culture.
At Canterbury Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, students marveled at the stunning Gothic architecture and learned about its deep historical and religious significance. Walking through its grand halls and intricate stained-glass windows, they gained insight into England’s medieval past.
The journey continued to Dover Castle, often called the “Key to England.” Exploring its massive fortifications, students discovered its role in defending the country from medieval sieges to World War II. Highlights included the secret wartime tunnels and breathtaking views from the castle’s towers overlooking the English Channel.
